Countesthorpe and Foston Heritage Group
The principal aims of the group, which was formed in 2004 are to:

  • Encourage more people to be involved in heritage activities
  • Promote an appreciation of the history, architecture, landscape and wildlife of Countesthorpe, Foston & district
  • Encourage interest in the heritage of the community, through a program of meetings, guest speakers and joint projects with similar minded organizations
  • Act as a focus for those interested in the heritage of the district.

Further information may be obtained from the secretary, Dr. M.G. Thompson, 29 Peatling Road, Countesthorpe, Leicester. LE8 5RD. Tel: 0116 2770584 or Email: mgt4@leicester.ac.uk.

Countesthorpe Patient Participation Group
Members of Countesthorpe PPG are all patients at the Countesthorpe Health Centre, meeting bi-monthly to discuss and suggest improvements to the patient experience. The group is open to all patients of this practice.

Our project in 2012 is to provide a defibrillator for the village that will be available 24/7 access, probably sited in the village hall. This will mean if someone were to suffer a heart attack, residents could use the device themselves to help while waiting for an ambulance. There is a defibrillator at the Health Centre but due to limited opening times is not always available.

If you would like more information about our group, please contact our reception (tel: 0116 277 6336), or contact us through our Countesthorpe Patient Participation Group website.
